“World of Fantasy”

You are on top of your terrace that has no barrier walls…Suddenly a mad rush plunges into you, you start running… over the edge and beyond; when you realize you are beginning to fall. You are falling…

It is pitch dark and my legs are submerged in the marshy soil; ankle deep. A soft growl is alchemizing into a thunderous roar and in seconds it is right behind me. Running and running, I couldn’t catch my breath… I can’t anymore… I am falling a prey to this monster…

“When we are asleep in this world, we are awake in another”

No, No… you are thinking way too much… I am just “the Dream”. The profound lexicographers define me as ‘a series of thoughts, images or sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep’. I have been, am and will be the fascinating subject of study to all the psychological scientists who have been working on me over sleepless nights, (well, I don’t think that’s a good idea), getting hysterical yet failing to understand me completely…

Aint I magical? As you slowly drift to sleep, I come along to visit; accompanying you through night, flushing at times, your dopamine and at others, your adrenalin.

How satisfying it is to send shivers down your spines, to see you wake up in fright and drench you in sweat and then giving you the utter solace of “Ah! That’s just a dream.”

Oh, No, No! I am not lunatically sadistic… Don’t I take you to the world of your worlds and watch as you pleasantly enjoy yourself, wishing I would never end and that you never be aroused from sleep.

Well, have you forgotten, authors such as Rowling have used me to save lives… not to mention the Big Friendly Giant (ref: Roald Dahl) who carefully caught and sent me into the peaceful sleep of tiny tots.

I am as complicated as magical as I maybe… for you do not know how I creep in, fool around and pop out of your heads; sometimes leading you into the confusion if this is real or has been happening inside your head 😉.

*yawn* Umm. Goodnight! And “sweet dreams!”
